Levi’s Launch 2014 Skate range Lookbook

Levi’s Launch 2014 Skate range Lookbook

Winter is coming, there’s no doubt about that. I’ve gone from wearing a t-shirt all day to three layers in the morning in the space of two weeks. Winter’s not all bad though. On the plus side though, we do get to do a little winter wardrobe update. Which is a good thing, because Levi’s has just launched their 2014 skate range.

The A-Z of Dance

The A-Z of Dance

Shot in LA, this simple yet very well done brand video for Diesel takes us through the A to Z of dancing. Sounds boring? It isn’t. It makes me, the occasional drunk wedding dancer, wish I wasn’t an awkward white dude. I’m not saying you can’t be white and dance, I just think one of those rad cultural mixes like Japanese/Russian or something would increase my chances in the dancing world. I’d have my own unique style resulting in me being the most popular dancer in the LA underground dance scene, and then also in Tokyo where the sequel to my dance/life movie would take place.

Apple Launches CarPlay

Apple Launches CarPlay

I’m no conspiracy kook, but if you were to ask me if I thought the Terminator/I.R Robot future scenario in which a self aware AI system declares war on humankind was possible, I’d tell you to pop into your nearest iStore. Apple have been clever though. No hostile takeover. No Apple made machines sent back in time to kill strangle the earliest Android developers with the cord of those useless Apple earphones that refuse to stay in your ear. No, Apple are taking the slow approach. They’ve learnt from the likes of SkyNet and Will Smiths robot pal. In their latest move to rule us humans, Apple have released CarPlay, which despite the obvious dangers of being ruled by a smart device corporation, looks so goddamn perfect, I’ve already bought in. Available in Mercedes, Ferrari, and Volvo though, so I may need to wait a bit to sign more of my life over.

The Avant/Garde Diaries

The Avant/Garde Diaries

Make sure you have a little time before you get into this one, or bookmark this for later. I got sucked into The Avant/Garde Diaries through the below short ‘Shozo Kato – Way of the Sword’. A beautifully shot piece during which a master kendo sensei discusses how timeless notions of stillness and movement come together through the modern lens of Japanese sword fighting. The Avant/Garde Diaries is a ‘digital interview magazine initiated by Mercedes-Benz featuring bi-weekly video portraits of the extraordinary’, and another great example of the kind of quality online content that we are seeing more and more of these days.

Trinomic by PUMA

Trinomic by PUMA

I’m enjoying the current re-launched designs that the top sneaker brands have been putting out of late, and now I have the story behind my current favourite pair of PUMAs – the Trinomic XT1 and XT2. ‘PUMA Designers Ron Perkins and Yoshi Yoshimura discuss their roles in the reissue and the significance of the brands celebrated 90′s running technology. The detailed insight into the work that goes into a reissue sees the team recall everything from time spent trawling PUMA’s archive for OG product, to the act of balancing old and new.’
