another one for the collection. I have just taken ownership of the Eddie Murphy Delirious DVD. The Goose picked it up the other day, a deed she was well rewarded for.
I haven't watched it since Davie P gave away my VHS copy. I am sort of glad to be rid of it to be honest. The sound quality was crap and the whole rewind, fast-forward thing was a little too old school for me. The DVD is phenomenal! If you haven't watched it, you haven't lived. It is the funniest stand up act ever. FACT. Sure other comedians have their moments, but Eddie nails it from the beginning of his routine, right the way through. There are, like, a million clips on YouTube, but here is one for your enjoyment. It's Christmas, buy yourself a little gift. Get Eddie Murphy Delirious at Musica, now. Do it! |

the obvious choice. When it comes to tattoos you don’t want to fuck around. Having ink permanently injected into your skin is something you may want to think about a bit before you get it done. Research never hurt anyone. Especially when someone has done the research for you. I’ll save you a lot of time and effort. Wildfire is your only choice when it comes to ink. No need to shop around. All their artists are phenomenal. FACT. Several of the bangersandnash.com Posse members can attest to this. Though my pick of the lot is Manuela. Manuela started Wildfire with Simon (another artist). She has travelled the world and has a wealth of experience. Booking time with her is not always the easiest thing, as she splits her time between the Canal Walk and Town studio, but its well worth it once you get it. It took many consultations before my second tattoo was completed, yet Manuela never rushed the process. She helped, guided and perfected the design as if it were her own. This experience couldn’t have been further from the little time I spent at the first studio I went to. I felt rushed, no thought was put into the design, and a date and price were handed to me before I knew what had happened. Feeling very uncomfortable, I went to Wildfire and haven’t looked back since. Manuela has just added another to my collection, as usual the process was easy and the outcome phenomenal. Seriously, if you are thinking about getting a tattoo, your first or 100th, go to Wildfire. You can check out some of Wildfires past work HERE. Don’t stuff around. Do it properly. Wildfire. Manuela. Nuff said. Don’t forget about the Cape Town Tattoo Convention coming up in January, 23rd -25th. For details on the Southern Ink Xposure click HERE.

another British must-see.
Darling, I know this is an old series (2004 – 2006) but I only recently discovered it. I picked it up a few months back, but never watched it. It had been chilling in a top draw, untouched. Until last weekend. Stuck for something to watch, I pulled it out and gave it a go. Oh. My. God! Green Wing is possibly one of the best British comedy series - ever. Obviously nowhere near The Office, but then again it’s a different sort of humour. You will either hate this show or love it. I’m not covering bases with that statement. There are no gray areas with Green Wing. It is seriously off-beat. It’s actually fucked up. Below is one of my favourite scenes from season one. Without giving too much away, the dude is trying to do something spontaneous for his bird, but the chick who walks in is not his goose. Jesus that is phenomenal! How’s that little pixie dance! The naked doctor is one of the highlights of the show, later on giving his love interest a locket filled with his man juice. Hilarious! Now there is also a young lad that takes the piss out of him ALL the time. Check this out: Lovely. There are a host of other characters, all as fucked up as each other, and all hysterically funny. You need to get your hands on this series. Its old so it won’t cost you too much. Unless, of course, you are a pirate, then it’s free. Get it! |

all you can eat for R30. All of the above is true. Well, the best in Cape Town is debatable, but I’ll tell you for free that you will battle to find sushi in Cape Town that is much better that the sushi I had last night. “Where!? Where can I find this sushi?” I hear you ask. Well, it’s a rather exclusive venue. In fact, last night was the closing down sushifest. Retail Red’s Sushi Palace will now be moving. New location currently unknown, though it is somewhere in Kenilworth…one up from 2nd Avenue… The chef - Retail Red Anyway, last night the Posse hooked up for a phenomenal night of spicy tune, sashimi, prawn rolls, California rolls, fashion sandwiches and those little bits of heaven wrapped in orgasms and topped with fantasies…salmon roses.
Armed with a bottle of Nederburg (the Manor House range of course) I took on the sushi. Seeing as the all-you-can-eat buffet only cost me R30, this wasn’t about getting my moneys worth. Though I most certainly did. By the end of the evening I couldn’t actually move. There was still sushi left, looking at me, mocking me, taunting me, and I could do nothing about it.
Do you know how it feels to not be able to eat anymore sushi? Sushi that is just parking off on the plate in front of you, waiting to be devoured. It’s extremely satisfying, I’ll tell you that much. The new Sushi Palace will be opening up in a few weeks. I’ll let you know about it and where it is when the time is right. You may even get an invite. Though, we’ll have to see about that. You’ll have to behave. Unless being naughty is your vibe? Unless you like to be spanked… |

A Hundred Million Suns.
This album couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The new Kings of Leon CD has almost worn through, I have been playing it so much. I know every word, can now drum along with every track and I’ve almost got the hillbilly holler down pat. But will I be spinning Snow Patrols new album as much? To be as objective as possible I have listened to “A Hundred Million Suns” (AHMS) a few times. It’s a phenomenal offering. If you are a fan of Snow Patrol you will love this album. Mainly because it is very similar to their previous stuff. Nothing far better, nothing bad. Perhaps not as emotionally laden as their last album “Eyes Open”, AHMS offers a bit more. Apparently lead singer Gary Lightbody wanted to focus a little more on being in love whist actually in a relationship. A direction that fosters a much more positive mood throughout. A far cry from “Eyes Open”, which I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has recently ended a relationship. Though, “Eyes Open” is golden when it comes to winning over the birds, and possibly emotional guys. One track played for person of interest = blowjob. Buy them the CD and you are guaranteed activities of a sexual nature, possibly quite vigorous and in a public place. Back to AHMS. The first released single – “Take Back the City” is already doing very well. Other tracks like “If There’s A Rocket Tie Me To It”, “Crack The Shutters”, “Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands”, “Disaster Button” and the stadium ready, 16:19min, three part closing track “The Lightning Strike”, are definitely going to get a lot of play time this summer. AHMS gives us what we have come to expect of Snow Patrol which has, unfortunately, lead to a few negative reviews. Snow Patrol have been criticised for producing a very similar record to their past releases. It’s a fair point, but irrelevant to the Snow Patrol fan. As I said earlier, if you enjoyed Snow Patrol you will enjoy this album. Sure it’s not groundbreaking, but were you looking for a totally different sounding Snow Patrol? No. What you want from Snow Patrol is a great album that you can play from beginning to end. An album that means something different to everyone. From a braai day selection, to your summer road trip soundtrack, to an emotional trigger and the music you can burry your head under a pillow and sob uncontrollably to. And that’s exactly what you will get. |
