Sign spinning is an actual thing. I used to think it was a thing Hollywood took the piss of in movies, but after my last visit to the US, I now know it to be an actual thing. In the small town of Joshua Tree we saw sign-spinners daily, each with their own corner, each with their own style. This short documentary on Justin Brown – the godfather of sign-spinning (although possibly self confessed), is nothing short of magical. Because you didn’t know this world existed. A world in which a dude who is good at what is thought of to be a drop-out job, travels from city to city teaching his craft.
