Manchester Orchestra Release HOPE, an Acoustic Reworking of COPE

If you use your data for anything today, it should be to download this album. HOPE, is the latest surprise release from Manchester Orchestra. The new album is basically a stripped-down acoustic version of their most recent album, COPE. The new album is available for digital download today and will be released on CD and vinyl on November 18. Details, links, and a sample below. Manchester Orchestra may just claim two spots out of my top ten albums of 2014 with this offering.

“Our goal was to be as sensitive as possible about not overcrowding the music, and letting it breathe and aiming for pretty,” singer Andy Hull says. “We aimed for nasty and guttural stuff on COPE, and this was more like, ‘How pretty can this be?’ I’ve always liked both sensibilities. This was an opportunity to see if we could sit down and do it for a whole album.”
