WIN: Tickets To Sowing The Seeds 2013

It feels as if festival season has just finished, and yet here it is, starting all over again. Sowing The Seeds, the little (or not so little anymore) bit of down the front pants musical foreplay before the main event, Rocking The Daisies (which is now basically around the corner), is here again. This time in taking place on Welgelegen Manor Estate, in Mpumalanga. The lineup is nothing short of phenomenal. Check it out, and then let’s talk about some tickets for you.

Alt-J To Play At Rocking The Daisies

Alt-J To Play At Rocking The Daisies

Earlier today Rocking The Daisies announced British indie rock outfit Alt-J as their the first international act for this years festival (3-6 October). I’m not going to lie, I’m incredibly excited about this. Firstly because they are ‘the first’ international act to be announced, which means there will be more, or at least another one. Alt-J is pretty damn far off the centre line, and judging by the reaction on Twitter, there’s a fairly large number of South Africans that aren’t quite sure who they are. The easiest way to show you (and get you very excited) is to give you a little example of their goods.

The Week That Was: Beginning October

The Week That Was: Beginning October

Here I am again, searching through pics for The Week That Was, and once again I realise that I’m over two weeks behind. The year has already reached it’s tipping point and it’s easy to forget that we’re currently plummeting toward the end of 2012. The Christmas decorations have been on display for a few weeks already, and if you haven’t made plans for December yet you’ll be scraping the accommodation barrel. This part of the years roller-coaster also brings with it a lot of excitement. The summer days are closer, the beaches start filling up, and Cape Town comes alive. We’ve also got a lot of festivals coming up. The next three months should result in some awesome Weeks That Were for all of us.

No Regret Friday At Rocking The Daisies

No Regret Friday At Rocking The Daisies

When it comes to drunk driving campaigns I normally hate them. Not because I want to drive drunk, but because I don’t believe we are EVER going to stop people drinking and driving by scaring them. Not in SA. We are a nation of risk takes and we challenge authority – everyone knows there are bad men waiting for them in jail, but it doesn’t matter because ‘we not gonna get caught’. We need to start with the idea that drinking and driving is not fucken cool, in any way. Yes we all have stories of when we were younger, but we were stupid. It’s time to grow up. Once we do that, things may change.

Anyway, one of the best drunk driving campaigns to come out of SA, No Regret Friday, did an activation at Rocking The Daisies then made a rad time-lapse of the event. I’m a sucker for time-lapses, and hot chicks. This, features both.

Let’s change the way we think.

Nash…
Out.

The 5 Gum Experience At Rocking The Daisies

The 5 Gum Experience At Rocking The Daisies

Boys and girls, I don’t need to remind you that it’s Kings Of Leon tonight. I’m sure you’re as excited as I am. We’re climbing the diving board ladder of excitment. We’re almost at the top. Close your eyes and visualise it with me, while at the same time reading this. We’re almost there now. Walking along the plank. People around the pool screaming. Keep those eyes closed. We’re at the end. Ready to dive into excitement. We just need one more push. A reminder of what live music and concerts are all about. They’re about awesomeness. Which is why you need to watch this video. It will shove you over the edge of excitement and send you plummeting into full scale hysteria.
