Musical Cars: Your Cabs Friend

Cars are a nightmare. Fact. If you have an old one you constantly have to sort out the aircon, replace stolen radios, sort out the broken alarm or add in the latest insurance requirement, which now happens to be a self deploying turret equipped with flamethrower and machine gun, before they will even think about covering your car.

Or, if you have a new blik, you need to pair your laptop, phone, gps, watch and brain with that of your cars. You’ll also need to install those third-eye reverse aids so you don’t scratch you bumpers. But something all cars need, old or new, is a good sound system. Music keeps the world going round and it needs to be listened to properly. Musical Cars, the guys who have been around the longest, specialise in all of the above.

I popped in the other day to top up my aircon gas and Speed and Sound happened to be there taking a few shots of this bad boy…

Naughty.
They thought so to because it’s on the front cover of their latest mag which is out now.

More after the jump.

I’m more of a muscle car fan myself (the Shelby GT to be specific) but I can appreciate something like this. Check it uit.

LOVE the baby seat vibe. You can have a car that goes faster than the speed of sound, a music system that will literally melt your face AND keep your baby safe at the same time.

This is for you technical people out there, cause I know this stuff makes you hard, from Keith (your guy at the Wynberg branch) who was behind the sound in this car.

Everything was custom made and fitted. All work was done by Musical Cars.

The car is a Nissan 200SX and this is what it is packing – Sound wise:

JVC Head Unit/DVD KWAVX 800
Rockford 360.2 Interactive Signal Processor

Junk in the trunk:
25 Farrord Carbon Capacitor
Rockford Power Elite Series Amps
- Power T800 4 channel
- Power T2000 1 BD Mono Amp

Power 61/2 Splits in the front
Power 6/12/ two-way speakers in the back
2 x Rockford Power T1 10inch Subs for the baby

2 x Optima Deep Cycle Batteries (behind baby) keep everything going

All cabling is Rockford

Now I may not know what all of that means but I do know what it sounds like…PHENOMENAL.

The fact that the car made the cover of Speed and Sound is testament to the kind of work these guys do. They don’t stuff around. It’s quality all the way. I’ve been going to them for years. Chrrrist, they sorted out my first cab – an Isuzu single cab bakkie. Ah! Those were the days. Surfboards in the back, a 10inch sub behind the seats and quick escape from school during second break.

Of course they have done every car since then, some of you may remember White Lightning – the Golf II Gti, or the double cab after that. All sorted by Musical Cars.

You should think about taking your cab to them next time you need something sorted. There is one in Bark Rd (next to Black Ball) on the way to Lakeside – ask for Damien, and another just off the Wynberg main road, just after that equestrian shop – speak to Keith.
