Who Does This Wood Belong To?

If a tree falls in a forrest and there was only a lone man to chop it up and load it into the back of his car, did anyone really commit a crime? Seriously, I’ve been looking at the stockpile of firewood off Hospital Bend for months now. Who does it belong to? National Parks? If I can take a pinecone off the mountain can I take the tree it grew on if it is already dead and conveniently chopped to a size suitable for my boot? What I’m asking is, what is the deal with all that wood. It’s clearly not being used for resale. Who does it belong to? Can I take some?

Nash…
Out.

    No,

But you can apply for a free licence at the City of Cape Town and then you’re allowed to!

theres plenty of wood in newlands Picnic spot to grab atm

  3. All I know is the slogan for SANS parks is “take only photos. Leave only footprints.”. 99% Sure you can’t take that wood. It is pretty tempting though… seeing we’re paying R20 for 7 smalls stumps of wood. Wet wood.

If you don’t mind paying R100 you can get quite a bit on the West Coast road 20min outside Cape Town.
